The Story
Set during the 31st Millennium, Horus Rising explores a time when the Imperium seemed destined to achieve complete victory. Humanity's armies continue their conquest of the stars while the Emperor returns to Terra, leaving overall command in the hands of Horus.
Although widely respected by his brothers and trusted above all others, Horus soon discovers that leadership on such a scale brings new pressures, rivalries, and hidden dangers. As ambition, loyalty, and doubt begin to collide, the first cracks appear in the unity that has held the Imperium together.
These early events lay the foundation for the galaxy-spanning civil war that will become known as the Horus Heresy—one of the defining conflicts in Warhammer history.
